A little more explanation on what is going on with the secondary air system on the GX 470/460 & Tundras:
This guy explains it very well by tearing apart the system and chasing down the issues and what is causing it. Ultimately from his explanation it sounds like the foam air filter gets brittle and eventually falls apart and gets sucked into the system. I'm wondering if this should be a replacement item? It would be a cheap item to replace vs waiting for it to go bad and have to replace multiple expensive parts downstream.

IMO... that 3rd party filter should significantly mitigate that piece of issue from occurring.
I've said this before but seemingly a nightmare to fix this issue on the 4.7L versus the 4.6L
