GX versus RX in deep snow
Has anyone owned or driven both and can speak to which one would do better in deep snow driving assuming the same tires? The GX gets a lot of mentions in this regard but I think the RX technically has higher ground clearance. Curious if I would notice a difference as I spend a lot of time in deep snow up in Tahoe before plows come.

Not always. I have owned both and had both in my garage at the same time. I live in the PNW near Spokane and we get snow, ice, etc. the two have completely different drive trains. The RX is All Wheel drive, the front end pulls while the rear assists. The GX is Full Time 4x4 and the rear end drives while the front end assists. On deep snow and ice the GX can be more squirrely if you don’t lock the center diff. The GX also has wider tires than the RX and in snow and ice that isnt always a good thing. In deep deep snow wide tires are better, but you need to air down to spread out the tread. Over all I liked the GX myself. But the RX was a hands free tank in the winter especially around town.

IMO: Tires make a big difference... I'd also be hesitant to use CDL too much driving on icy roads. This affects steering and handling in my experience. Compare taking a corner on ice with CDL locked versus not.
I run dedicated snows on mine during the winter as I travel to and from my cabin in the central Cascades of WA state. Basically snow and ice from November to April or so.

GX hands down the winner for me. If you drive stupid, you will get in trouble in any vehicle in the snow and ice. GX is 4WD all the time, the RX is AWD some of the time and you hope that the computer reacts smart and fast enough to save you in a tough situation. I have gotten stuck with an RX in deeper snow as it hopelessly spins its front tires. With the GX, I dont bother shoveling and I just gas and go.
