Default Wow, such hard decisions !

Hey all, I have a 2020 RX 350 that I love, but I usually like to move on to a new auto every few years ! I can tell you that I'm faithful to the Toyota/Lexus brand, and won't have anything else.
With all the recent GX post I have been reading, I decided to try a GX out several weeks ago. I never had thought about one until I have read about all the love people seem to have for them.
I was blown away once I tried one out. I loved the steering, and the feel of it, and was amazied at how quiet and smooth it was. Also, the view from it is perfect. You can see out of it much better than an RX . I have tried a 4runner before, and didn't care for it, and thought the GX would be mostly the same with a few upgrades. Again, I was wrong. A huge difference ! So, now I'm trying to decide on new 2023 RX later this year, wait to see what the new 2024 GX looks like, or try to get a 2023 GX the end of the year. This is probably the hardest decision with a car I have made. I don't put a lot of milege on my vehicles, so I like to get a great trade deal so I can afford to get another nice auto ! I don't think I would loose out too much if I wait until 2024 to get something, so this is a tough one. I love the V8, and I know it will be gone in the next GX, but I also know the changes and some luxury things that are missing now they would also add might be nice. I don't care for all the new stuff they are putting in . The RX's are loaded with stuff , and I don't really care for the 4 cylinder either , the only RX I would consider is the 500h as I don't want the ecvt. While I don't do much off road, I do live in an area that can have big snows...the RX isn't great in snow either ! Not worried about gas milage as the RX doesn't get that much better than the GX unless you get a hybrid. Do you think the value of the GX will remain high after the new model arrives ? Maybe you guys can give me some insight ?

If you are considering a GX IMO I would get the current model. I would never buy a first model year production (as in a 2024 GX) and I also think you will see a considerable price increase on next year's model. I have no inside information on the price but with the 4Runner, LC Prado and GX all being sold I am sure there will be step prices between each, the GX being at the top.
You also mention you like to change up vehicles every few years, you can always trade up to the new GX model for your next purchase in 2025/26 after the launch bugs have been worked out.

Unless you care about mpg or tech upgrades, I would (and did) buy the 2023 GX. IMHO they are going to ruin the new one like they did to the LX.

Had a Rx330, had a Gx470, have a Gx460 2011, and have a 2019 4Runner Limited. The RX is a car and feels like a car. GX470 was definitely more truck feel. Gx460 best of both worlds but I do like the 4Runner. But even top model 4Runner doesn’t have things like the auto turn down mirrors in reverse, headlight washers, heated steering wheel and the 4 Runners turning radios is a lot less and I find it annoying. The 4Runner is a much cleaner simpler design and for me I like that. I don’t need the third row seating and the 460 is hard to find used without it. At least the 470 you could easily take out the third row seats. In the end, you need to get what’s best for you. I will end on the last point. You said you change vehicles every few years. The 4 runner holds it value more than any other vehicle and is the highest selling vehicle Toyota has. That is why they are not changing it for 2024 model year.
good luck.

If you want to see ruined, go look at the Toyota Grand Highlander.

If you love how the current GX feels and drives, you should get the current gen. The new GX will be more isolated with electric that, power that and turbo this. If you like the utilitarian feel and the V8, dont wait. Cars are depreciating assets anyways. You can always lease if you change cars every few years and if you really like the car, you can always buy out the lease and you wont lose anything.

Get a 2023 GX. I bought one yesterday and am just blown away at how great this thing is. The V8 is magnificent.
