Default 2012 lug nut replacement

Has anyone replaced their oem lug nuts with aftermarket nuts? I took the wife's wheels off for a thorough cleaning and rotation before winter and noticed that a few nuts were tight in my wrench along with a few are starting to rust. It seemed similar to my Tacoma, which experienced swollen lug nuts that I replaced with Gorilla solid lug nuts. I was curious if any GX460 owners had experienced the same swelling and if there were any recommendations.

It may be your socket rather than the lug nuts "swelling" You should use a 21 mm socket, many use a 13/16" but that is only 20.64mm which is 0.36mm smaller ... a very tight fit. Use a 21mm not a 13/16".

Yes. Many time. The after market ones get rusted quicker but I have not noticed anything else.

I started to use 6 point socket as opposed to 12 point ones and started to see slower corrosion. Impact socket is even better.
