#2023 Discussion
I may be selling my 2016 GX to my son and could be in the market for a 2022 or 2023 Luxury model.
I'm looking at a used 2022 and was wondering if there were any feature changes between the 2022 and 2023 models.
I tried to post in the FAQ, but it's locked and the last post in the thread is before the 2023's were released.
Thanks for the help.
Steve
I know the biggest change was the introduction of Apple CarPlay/updated media deck in 2022, but that wasn’t your question.

I thought all Luxury models included Mark Levinson, so that's something to keep an eye on for sure.
Not interested in the Black Line Edition either, so I'm good to go with the 2022's.
How long will they keep making the 2023 model for dealer lots? I think Lexus might even have some incentives to get the GX and 4% financing.
Also, consider how crappy Toyota's fastners are with regards to corrosion and that also means its not so easy sometimes. I bought my 2011 with 72k miles and very minimal, if any, rust and it already had multiple snapped bolts from the dealer services. I have had issues with multiple other bolts since then, some snapped and some just gave me hell getting out. I put anti-seize on pretty much every bolt I take out now at this point because its that bad.
Oil changes are annoying with the filter housing, but I will say that its nice that they put drain and fill holes on everything(trans, t-case, and diffs). That makes doing most of the fluids fairly easy.

Celebrating Lexus & Toyota from Around the Globe

Got the Michelin Defender LTX M/S installed recently at Discount Tire ( another ~ $1300 + alignment $90 ) and its been tracking straight mostly (~1200 miles on them ) and almost no vibration ( 55-70 mph ) for now..
Then my 2021 GX460 with 18" Bridgestones was fine. Not the best tires, but dead smooth and zero vibration or pull issues. Later, bought a 2023 LX600 with the 22" Dunlops. Horrible shuddering shivering. Dealer did road force twice. Lexus corporate offered to buy a "different brand of tires". Installed Bridgestones. It was still shuddering and shaking. Gave up, and traded down to a 2023 GX460 with the 19" Dunlops. It's SOOO much smoother than the LX, until you hit various road textures, and the junk Dunlops just go bipolar and shiver all over.
They're VERY sensitive to tires, for sure. And some, like the LC/LX, can have incurable driveline shudders. 1000 miles in, my '23 GX460 is still great, just giving it a moment until I have time to decide what to do with these brittle Dunlops and improve the ride--but it's workable for now.

Yeah, I just threw 10 years out there because I currently have a 2018 Audi Q5 that I feel like it's a ticking time bomb! Drives great though. But I did have a Lexus ES before that lasted 15 years before someone hit it in an accident.
Been asking around and seems like there will still be a good supply of GX460's until around Jan-March? I guess if I haven't decided by that time and/or haven't figured out the funds for a down payment by then, I can always look for a CPO such as a 2020-2021 model next year.
I am a new member and wanted to say hello.
I have owned a gamete of cars and SUV's over the years and have recently been looking at a new (or close to it) GX.
I have a '22 4Runner Limited that we don't drive too frequently (only have about 6,400 miles on it) and thinking about adding a GX to the fray.
I am interested in people's thoughts about the prices of the current GX with the introduction of the 550s. The new model looks sharp with the right options.
Is it pretty much a general consensus that the 460s are going to get hit pretty hard once the new one is out and about and everyone that wants one has one?
Thanks.
