Try to narrow down the location of the noise, if you have a mechanics stethoscope that is ideal, if not you can use a large screwdriver. It could be a leak or cracked exhaust manifold. The first place I would listen would be the valve covers and timing chain covers, it could be tappet noise or timing chain tensioner, also listen to the fuel rails, injectors can be noisy but usually not that loud.

Sounds like an exhaust leak. But honestly, there are several things it could be, some more or less concerning than others. Have a trusted mechanic check it out. You could also take it to a Toyota dealership and have them check it out. They are usually very competent with lower labor rates than the Lexus mechanics, and there really are not any mechanical systems on the vehicle unique to Lexus.

Took it to a reputable mechanic yesterday and they threw it on a list and looked around for about an hour and a half, and could not identify exactly what was causing the clicking. They did discover that the car does not have to be in drive for the clicking noise to happen so it’s definitely in the engine. They used the stethoscope and listened all over the place and determined it’s coming from the front part of the oil pan above the oil pan, leading them to believe that it may be tensioner guide or something inside the motor, it seems like it may be catastrophic if it gets worse. To diagnose any further would cost a lot of money because they would have to take the engine out of the car to get to the tensioners. I am super bummed.

Exhaust leak would also sound different with the vehicle in gear and brake engaged due to the static torque in the drivetrain

If I may ask how much? Also would they apply that charge to the fix if it was in the engine?

This is not correct. The engine front cover can be removed w/ engine in place. It is a lot of work but engine remains in place.

Here is a video of R&R of the timing cover.
