I’ve been trying to do that but none of the dealerships near me have any in right now. For now I asked two other people I know who have GXs and they don’t have this.

Still sounds like an awesome V8 to me and pretty much exactly the way my 2003 sounded. I want to dump my RX even worse now. Sorry I'm no help, but I'm not hearing it even with headphones.

Default 2023 GX rattling/Ticking sound

I’m reaching out to all my fellow Lexus expert. I need some help/guidance identifying this sound. I picked up a 2023 Lexus GX Luxury back in March 23. I noticed this Ticking/rattling sound coming from underneath the vehicle. I’m assuming button front end. It only makes this noise ticking/rattling sound during accelerating at low speed (15-25 mph). When the vehicle is in parked or at a higher speed I don’t hear the sound. Only at a low speed accelerating. The truck has roughly 2,300 miles. I brought it to the dealer and long story short they came back and told me they couldn’t duplicate the sound, to wait until it’s more noticeable. Can anyone tell me where I should start looking or anyone recognize or experience the same issue?

I took it in to have it looked at and the first time they of course told me they couldn't replicate it and then I asked them to try again under more specific conditions and they heard it but said it's totally normal. The tech drove another GX to compare and said it makes the same sound. I took some videos but you need to listen really closely to hear it in them as the sound is tough to hear behind the background noise. It's much louder and more noticeable in person. Can anyone shed any light on this? Or maybe it really is normal for this engine? Thanks everyone.

I have noticed yesterday that sound was gone and at some acceleration it was extremely minimal. Since, there are many folks experiencing the same I would assume it as normal engine characteristics.

Sometime it will produce ticking while other time nothing at all.

If there was any issue it should constant and always, but that's not the case here.

How about yours ?

Here’s better video I was able to reproduce- drive mode while holding breaks and gently accelerating until I reach the 1200rmps. It only makes that noise at 1100-1200 rpm’s.

Yes, mine is kinda similar to this but as i said one day i will hear this and the some other day nothing at all. I have read threads with folks having 2023 and newer models with few hundred miles are producing same ticks.

How it is possible that with all the GXs coming out of Tahara Plant are having the same ticking issue at low rpms. Doesnt make sense. If it was old yes i can assume it with dirty lifters, head gasket etc. But man just 1000 miles and ticking. IMPOSSIBLE to digest !

I think we should give it some time to breakin and let all engine parts are well lubricated. If i consider this as a knock, even with 91 too from Top Tier fueling company.? Strange !

In one of the thead, dealer replaced whole exahust assembly, thinking it could be the isssue but it still does these ticks.

Please do update what dealer telling you. I ll look forward to your reply.

The ticking could be the front belt pulley wheels.

Default 2014 GX 460 random ticking noise getting louder

I have a 2014 Lexus, GX 460. There is a strange ticking noise coming from the motor that is now starting to get louder as time goes by and I put more miles on the car. It is most noticeable when the car is under low when it’s in Dr. and I’m accelerating from a stop. I can also make the tick noise happen when I put it and Dr. put my phone on the break and just press on the gas pedal a little bit. I can’t notice any kind of performance degradation, but the noise is definitely getting louder. So tired of it but I took a video and in the description of the video I’ve put the time marker where you can hear it most profoundly.
Any insights and how I can make the stop or fix it would be greatly appreciated, thanks
just noticed posted this in the IS forum, sorry

Sharp rapping noise hints of rod knock but can't be sure. How many miles? Is your power steering fluid low?

Thanks for your thoughts. I have 96k miles on it at the moment. To me, the sound seems to sharp to be rod knock. It’s more of a clicking than a knock. It’s really puzzling. Could it possibly be a leak in the exhaust manifold maybe?? Problem is I just don’t know what that would sound like 🤔
