Saw this awhile back and decided to try it on my 2014 GX and 2016 LX, installation is very easy, lesser than 10 mins, plug and play. The peddle response is very noticeable with different settings. I am sure there are many similar products on the market, but like this one with its simple configuration, near invisible button implementation, and Valet and Lockout mode for added security.
Is this effectively a pedal commander? changes the input of how hard you need to press the gas pedal? I have a sprint booster on our 2014 4Runner and love it, may get one for the GX but so far with the V8 the throttle lag is really not noticeable like it was on the 4Runners V6.

yes. That is basically another form of pedal commander. I have been driving both GX and LX for two days now, with device default settings, Both have noticeably responses improvements.

Nice feature with Pedal Commander is the app. You can leave everything hidden and control the settings with your phone if you don't want the button showing. It is also on my list to download and test the pedal commander app and try to use it through the LSAILT. Does this unit also have an app?

Shiftpower also can be controlled with app. The button is just for the convenience. I found the buttons are useful when change the mode while driving. While there is an android app for that, I am not sure if it can be used on Lsailt. Two issues might prevent to use it with Lsailt. a) the app only works in portrait mode, b) the Bluetooth profiles on Lsailt are limited. I may give it a try in next few days. I have tried Escort radar detector and Escort live app with Bluetooth connection, no success with Lsailt unit.
Don’t knock it until you try it. I have one on my SC and it definitely makes the car more fun to drive. Can’t be duplicated the same with just your foot.
This is a super common comment from people who haven't tried one of these.
I don't want to HAVE to drive it like I stole it to feel like I got the power I paid for, it really does change the character of the vehicle. It also has the secondary effect of improved transmission shifting as it THINKS you've applied more pedal than you have, which makes a noticeable improvement as well, as you're in the right gear more of the time.
Not all vehicles need them though. Our 5th gen 4Runner was terrible and really benefited from adding a Spring Booster. I've never felt my GX470 needed it though. I haven't tried one on the GX460, but I get the impression it could benefit from one, although it's a lot better than the 4Runner was stock.
It’s not just the AMOUNT of pedal applied that changes, it’s really the SPEED at which the throttle body responds to your pedal input that makes a huge difference. Check out the Sprint booster video for the best explanation.

Interesting. I wasn't aware there was a regulated slew rate built into the TPS system, but I guess it makes sense they would do that.

i use pedal commander in my 4runner and now also in my gx - there is absolutely a difference in pedal response time. whether or not you like it is subjective but the delay in factory response is real. there is also a gap in understanding the different modes in pedal commander.
eco is self explanatory but city, sport and sport+ are not. city mode will increase throttle response in the first half of pedal depress and will taper off on the second half. i do not like city as it makes the gx lurch off the line - city mode might be for those who like to race streetlight to streetlight. sport mode will also increase the first half of throttle depress but not as much as city. sport mode will ramp up throttle response on the second half of pedal depress. sport mode is really the preferred mode for most people because most people want better off the line response but less effort as speeds ramp up - think merging into highway speeds. sport+ mode mixes both city and sport together in which the entire pedal travel will respond instantly.

Good explanation! In term of ShiftPower, it is very similar in Dynamic mode which gradually increases response up to 25%, which makes your pedal effort reduces as speed increases. Works very well for daily driving.

is the pedal commander for the 4runner and gx the same model PC27?
