Hi There SamLexRXGX - I bought and installed these on my 2018 GX. When mine went in, the LEDs were on either side and the "substrate" I guess it is called, has a vertical orientation. DO you know if this is right? Or maybe the LEDs should be oriented top and bottom of the substrate? Any idea?
These things are bright and crisp white. One thing I always wonder about these devices that have an in-built fan ... the whole assembly fits INSIDE the headlight assembly which is sealed with that dust cover so even though it is fan-cooled, there is no outside air circulating. I guess it is ok. I am not inclined to leave the dust covers off of the high beam assembles.
I used the auxito high beam. I feel its perfect replacement. working great.
it has 1:1 same beam pattern with the factory Halogen bulb. same focal length and position like the factory bulb.

But yeah, these things are nice.
You are right. it is vertical orientation. I have installed with the built in fan inside the dust cover. so far no issues. This probably helps inside the air circulation better. Removing dust cover was not recommended as it may result in humidity, water condensation etc.
2016 GX460 luxury, HID low-beams, halogen high-beams. Looking to replace with LEDs. Seeing a lot of disparate info on bulbs, dust covers, etc. Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. Looking for maximum brightness/output for country roads. Not concerned about street legality; will only be on when not around other cars anyhow. Suggestions appreciated!
I have the Hikari 2023 Titanova on the way will be here tomorrow. I chose this one because it has better cooling than most. They make an H9 version https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B1MGYT58/
I'm just looking to replace the halogen high beam. Now seeing that the low beam is factory LED, not HID.
On the Hikari, do they require extended dust covers, anti-flickr setups, or anything else? OR are they plug and play?

They will not work if your car has DRL on the high beam meaning 6 volts. Only one I know of that does this is the Morimoto with anti flicker module. For applications like this I turn off DRL and enable the low beams to always be on via Techstream. Not sure this is possible on your truck.
Dust covers don't know would need to see the back of the headlight. Generally they can be an issue with any bulb that has a fan which is most.
The headlights have a separate LED DRL; the halogen beams aren't used for DRL that I can see. Since they're halogen, if there was any voltage in them, they'd light up.
What do you do with the dust covers on fan-LEDs? Just leave them off?

That's good news, apologizes for not knowing exactly how your headlight is set up.

People do yes, long term it could mean dust and moisture potentially getting into the housing. Look at the bulb I linked to, the collar comes off can you put the rubber boot onto the bulb then put the collar back in place and have enough space?
I'll do some more looking on how much space I have. I was hoping to hit someone who had done this on this vehicle--but your responses are super helpful and much appreciated!

That would be ideal. Not many people go LED because of a popular misconception that they don't work properly in a housing that originally had halogen or HID. Years ago this was true not anymore.
