How do I go about removing the cover for the 12V socket without breaking it? I currently have a USB charger in there and I would like to remove the cover since it gets in the way.

I have one of the low profile Aukey USB chargers that sits very close to the silver ring on the charging outlet. Since it's a shorter height , the 12v cover tries to fold back to the closed position.
How to remove 12v cover?
