Hi All - long time lurker, first time poster. I am probably resurrecting a dead thread and/or beating a dead horse but I wonder if this issue is ongoing and what the consensus is as to how wide spread this may or may not be for the latest GX's? I have a 2022 Premium (non air suspension) on order and I am hopeful it will be as trouble free as the last four Toyota products I've owned. Thanks

Stock suspension on my 22 did not have any lean.
It only occurred after a 2” lift which was then minimized by installing Treaty oak spacer front(skid plate trimmed) and rear.

The TSB for KDSS lean seems to get updated every year to include current model year. I will be watching if updated for '22 this next month...before '23 production starts in August.

I guess Lexus doesn't think the lean is a problem. Or maybe wgen the car is on the road and driving, it's not an issue either. It just looks cheap when you see a Lexus lean on the road. You tend to think either the driver is too heavy or the car has been in an accident that wasn't repaired properly.

Note that Lexus doesn't consider it a lean until it's more than 20mm. Mine leans towards the front passenger side anywhere from 1-2cm, when parked on level ground. I should have someone measure when I am in driver's seat to see if there's any difference.

Default my passenger side leans in the front & rear

I just bought 2014 GX460 luxury with less than 30k miles. It rides great, but it leans visibly to the right. I read on this forum that this is the KDSS lean, but mine leans worse in the front of the car at the passenger side.

Then I read about this right passenger side spring TSB that says to install a new FR spring which I'm guessing is slightly longer. That makes sense to me. As it's about 1.25 inch higher on my driverside in the front and about half inch higher on my driver side in the rear. I think that spring can potentially be a definitive fix. But my local Fresno Lexus is not willing to do due to the age of the car.

so I'm looking to do this myself. Is this the new spring that is supposed to fix the issue?

https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/...131-60f50.html

and is there any way for me to find out it's the older spring installed in the FR of the car before I go down this path?

Thanks all.

Try this
before you go with the new spring route.

just to update, I ended up ordering that spring and changing it out on the passenger front (USA). I thought I screwed myself because the new FSM replacement spring has the identical height and coil thickness when measured with caliper as the old one. I was hoping it was longer because my front passenger side was lower than the driver side by about 1.5" (rear was off by 1"). I always thought this corner was the culprit since it was the worst. Without the bleeding screw adjustment, after driving it around for a month, the corner heights are within quarter inch all around. Keep in mind though, when I first lowered the car, it still had the lean to my dismay. I think the new spring must have a different rate. I can't see the lean anymore which was the goal. I thought the whole bleeding screw thing was just a bandaid, since it's supposed to be internally self-leveling.

As for the job, it isn't easy or too difficult. I didn't even need the spring compressor. One trick is when you need the suspension arm to go down further, jack up the KDSS piston on the driver side. That did the trick to lower the arm to free the strut. Lot of online videos suggest pry bar which I found very difficult unless you got another buddy doing it for you.

Even without KDSS ... all North America Toyota body-on-frame vehicles lean. Best way to address is to install (adjustable) coilovers so side to side heights can be dialed in.

Default Kdss suspension lean anyone?

Does anyone's GX460 lean? I see there's a tsb on it if it's more than . 79", and I saw someone mention that 1/4" -1/2" is normal. Aren't they supposed to be " level" like every other vehicle? Is it a malfunction of sorts, or is it normal for kdss to do that? If mine is within the safe range of not getting recalled, are there spacers that can be purchased, and if so, should you realign the vehicle? I just purchased a " 23, and will measure it to see if I have this issue. Thx.

It appears that the lean is more apparent or occurs more frequently on lifted trucks. Measure your front and rear heights on level ground to see if you have a lean and like you mention above, and remember that Lexus considers a difference of up to 20mm or 0.79" to be 'normal'. My lean tends to fluctuate between 5 to 20mm (towards passenger side), however I have not measured it while I am in driver's seat and am also curious about how much of a lean there is while driving, is the lean more apparent when parked? I catch myself staring at other GX's while driving behind them to see if I can observe any kind of lean

did it have any impact on your ride quality?

I just went through this on my 2014 GX. The TSB very clearly states to change the left front spring, not the right front.

Here is a video that walks through the flow chart in the TSB:

Anyway, after changing the left front spring the front is level and the rear is low about 0.25" on the right side.

Awesome, so changing the front left(driver side) coil spring corrected all four corners? Was the difference between the front left and front right more than 20 mm before correction?

My vehicle measurements are FL 34 5/8, FR 34 1/4, RL 36 1/4, RR 35 1/4. so the front is with in the specs (less than 20mm), Rear right is one inch leaning.
I remember, the dealer told me it is with in specs, when I showed it to him last year. Do you think this bulletin helps in fixing the rear right lean?
