my car used to lean as well. However, since that my car had a leak in the KDSS hydraulic (it is now fixed) it no longer leans. Try to keep it on the ground and open the valves. Jump/bounce on the high side and see if that helps.

The lean tolerance for a dealer I believe is 10 mm side to side.

Default Kss lean 2013 gx 460

Hey guys,

I just purchased a 2013 GX 460 Base and noticed it pulling hard right on the highway. At normal speeds it does not do this. The car does lean on the back right.

My question is the TSB states the work is covered under the basic warranty but my vehicle is over 100k miles. Is this still covered as a known issue or will they charge me to replace?

This would be an out of warranty repair. Unless the issue is part of a recall or warranty extension TSBs are generally out of pocket once you are beyond warranty.

Would the dobinsons top plate spacer that is on treatyoak’s website fix the lean issue?

Pulling to the right may be an alignment issue. I've read up on this KDSS lean, and found it disturbing that Lexus/Toyota would tell you a slight lean is within normal specs. One of their "fixes" is installing a taller spring in one of the corners, passenger front IIRC.
If you do go through with this repair, please update this thread.

I had that lean problem and was told the same from my dealership. I replace the original Bridgstones with Michelin LTX M/S 2s and lean is no longer a problem. Have no idea why tires would do this, but the originals were crap.

I have that problem (pass side sagging) with some used struts I bought with low mileage and installed on my 2010 premium. Does anybody know if swapping them (left <--> right) will solve the problem? It's quite a bit of work to swap them so wanted to see if anybody can confirm this before i invest 4 hard labor hours in it for nothing.

Also, i have the old ones i uninstalled and could use those springs...

Thanks in advance

Just for information sake, mine is a 2015 Base and it leans roughly 1" lower on the Passenger side. Maybe a bit less but its noticeable from the rear, not from the front.

Default KDSS Suspension Lean

Hi all. Introducing myself here. I've been eyeing the GX460 for a couple months now. Love the commanding ride height, plushness/quietness, legendary reliability, and off-road capabilities - and basically have semi made up my mind to get either a CPO or a discounted new 2019 model in the coming months. I haven’t really seen too many issues at all with the Gx460 and am impressed by those running it well into the six figure mileage club with minimal maintenance repair.

However, I’ve recently reading a bit more on KDSS lean and knowing myself, an issue like that where Lexus won’t fix it (eg within spec) would drive me nuts.

So, question - is this something that will inevitably afflict all Gx460s? And if so, it doesn’t seem there’s much of a fix yet?

I heard the 2019 model years were fixed from having the lean as well?

Appreciate the help in advance. This forum has been terrific and thanks for all the great advice on my prior questions (and future questions).

KDSS is essentially hydraulically loaded sway bars. I've seen a 2019 and it still has a bit of tilt but unless you're just parked on perfectly level ground and staring at it you'd never notice.

Hi all,
I noticed my 2015 GX Luxury is leaning right towards the passenger side, when parked in level ground. I think its now out of warranty, only powertrain is covered. Will Lexus still cover the L-SB-0041-14 Rev 2 for this vehicle. The previous owner did not take care of this. When I bought I did not notice, but I am noticing now. It only has around 35k miles. I have the extended warranty (route 66). Would it cover?
If its not covered how much the Front LH coil spring costs and the labor

Thanks.
