Unless running tires taller than 265/70-17 or 265-65-18 ... I would limit the lift to 1.5 to 1.75 inches ... otherwise the wheels get completely lost in the wheel wells. With the stock ride height, the standard 265-60-18's are completely lost in the wheel wells ... IMHO make the GX460 look like a Soccer Mom Mini-Van.
Thank you! No rubbing whatsoever on this setup. It rides incredibly well, but..... it turns out my preference for comfort and speed outweighed my obsession with building an over-land beast. I got Discount Tire to swap out the KO2 for a set of Michelin Defender LTX M/S, also in 265/70/18
The KO2's were absolutely awesome, and once my situation changes, I'll definitely be putting a set back on the rig later on. I simply had a reality check.
In regards to the Michelin's... holy cow- these things are impressive. Just as quiet as the stock tires, very comfortable at speed, and they take potholes and variable road conditions like a champ (maybe better than KO2). They are definitely worth the buck!
Did you add the same size tire (265/70/18) to your spare? If so, did you have any issues fitting the spare under the truck?
Also, any rubbing when running this size tire with that lift?

So I was wondering if anyone knows what the center of hub to fender measurement is supposed to be after a lift to make sure you are at 2 1/2” instead of 3” or 4”. I know on my tundra it’s 24 1/2” to be at 2 1/2”. I tried looking around but got some weird drawing of measuring from the back side which was confusing and not helpful. If anyone knows this measurement, please post it. Would help other people besides myself to make sure it’s at the right height. Thanks.
Don't overthink it... your "right" ride height will depend on where your rear lift is, and whether you want to maintain the factory front/rear rake or "level" it.
Is there a 'leveling kit' type solution where only the front gets a mild bump (1" to 1.5") to level out the GX (460, in my case)?
I used the 1" front level spacer kit on my 5th Gen 4runner Limited, don't need to seperate the shock assembly, just pull the assembly down and slip the top spacer on, then back together. You will need an alignment afterwards.

Physical Fitment = Yes ... but the 4-Runner = 4,400 to 4,800 pounds (based on trim level) and the Lexus GX460 = 5,100 to 5,200 pounds ... so shock valving and spring rates (ideally) need to be adjusted accordingly. This is a 400 to 700 pound difference ... not inconsequential from a suspension standpoint.
Hi All. I've been thinking of a 'mild lift' to my stock rig for a while and seeing the 25% off sale at IronMan4x4 today rekindled the interest.
Looking to increase ride height for light trail use while maintaining good on-road manners. I've already been pretty impressed by the capability of the truck even with all the low hanging body work, but would like a little but more clearance. Will likely also change wheels and tires to a 4Runner 17" version.
So what are your thoughts on an IronMan stage 1 nitro 2.5" front, 2" rear, which would also increase payload by up to 110+lb? There's only 3 in my family and we aren't towing a trailer or carrying a RTT. The only substantial weight I would add for trips would be my battery and fridge/slide setup which is about 100lb combined.
With the 25% off, the stage 1 comes out to $850 shipped, which seems like a great deal to me. Any other recommendations?

I'm running pretty much that exact setup. Ironman Nitro stage 1, no aftermarket UCA, 4Runner TRD Off Road wheels (rattle-canned black), with Falken Wildpeak AT3W's in 275/70/17. LOVE it. The Falken's in that size are load range C, so they air down nicely for off road. Have put 2K miles on road, and had it off road for 2 trips in the month we've had it. Worked out great!

no lean. As to wheel size, it depends on what you want to do with the rig. I wanted as much sidewall as possible for off road and airing down. I'd run 16's if I could for this same reason.

had to use a heat gun and move some plastic around, but no rubbing with 275/70/17 Falken's. Still working on a spare since I put an oem frame mounted receiver hitch on it, currently have OEM spare underneath.

User hasn't been online in a bit so no responses to my PM but this is the setup I was looking to do.
- Cornfed 1" spacer up front
- TRD wheels (17x7, 4mm offset)
- Tire size: ??????????
At first glance, it looks like a 265 or 275 width tire and maybe stock height, if not a smidge higher?
My guesses:
- 275/65R17
- They don't look tall enough to be 265/70R17's...
Thoughts?
