The driveway is slightly slope and the tank was about 3/4 full.


The UI bars under INFO didn't get reset for both Consumption and Past History. I manually reset it this morning hoping it would help.


Thanks! I will keep an eye out for it tomorrow when i parked it overnight. I may try to do a full fill up again see if it reset as normal too.

 

Well, now I have seen it and I believe it. Not only is it getting EPA+ ratings, the trip computer seems to be within ± 0.1 MPG of calculated mileage. This is a First on both accounts for any vehicle we have owned. She's getting 17 city and 18+ on combined driving. We haven't taken it on a pure highway trip yet.

 

I log my fuel usage into fuelly.com and I have a 2020 and the average is 19.9 or so. My car name is hiro****o. Ok, I know, but it is 100 % made in Japan.

Liking the change from a 2017 volvo V90, a great car with a lot of self driving systems.

 

Best ever on a full tank highway was 21. But I was trying every trick in the book, playing a game with myself - no AC, windows up, no cargo or passengers, 3rd row seats removed, tire pressures around 40, never over the speed limit, pretending I had a raw egg between my foot and the accelerator pedal, losing speed going uphill, picking it back up downhill, and on an interstate going from 1,050 feet above sea level down to 300 feet at the end.

My usual hwy mileage, same trip as above but just driving normally for me, is 17.

And the same trip, but towing two horses in their trailer, about 9 mpg. The towing mileage is affected by both the added 6000 pounds, and the air resistance of the boxy trailer.

As long as gasoline stays relatively cheap, I don’t really worry about mileage. My begin to worry point is $4 per gallon, or any price if there begin to be lines and rationing. I lived through both lines and rationing in the 1970s.

 

Same as others. 15-16 in town, 20-22 on pure freeway.

 

18-18.5 on my commute. 2015 lux.

 

Wondering if my 130K mile plugs are hurting me.. Down to 15 adverage.

Aside from performance and MPG...another reason to swap plugs is potential for less complete combustion. This unburnt fuel is an extra workload on the catalytic converter which may accelerate the need for replacement of the CAT

 

I think at 130,000 miles, changing the plugs can only help.

 

I haven't read this thread through, but I'll chime in. I do about ~90% city driving it a busy area with lots of pedestrians and stop lights, and my dash is normally reading mid 14mpg.

 

I am of the school of thought that plugs don’t matter in where mileage is concerned. The injector spray pattern does. I’d run some techron through and see if that makes any difference...

 

I use the aCar app to log all fuel ups (along with keeping track of maintenance and other expenses) and it gives me my Best, Worst, and Average MPG. It syncs with Fuelly.com and that gathers all MPG/fuelups they've gathered from other users and gives the average MPG from all the data they've collected for any vehicle they have data on. The site is a great real word example of mileage for cars and highly recommend it for anyone shopping for a car (given that there is data for that vehicle). My MPG data (Mind you, I visit a lot of job sites and sometimes spend a few hours idling on site, one day I had an MPG of 9.4 so my AVG is lower than the norm):

I used Fuelly app to track and my numbers are almost the same as Ramacher’s
Over the weekend’s road trip, I got the best mileage ever recorded on my GX that was not involved all down hill driving. I got 24mpg on a stretch of 20mile flat country one-lane road while driving between 55-60mph with no acceleration or stop.
