I'm so confused. My GX460 [2019] is popping a bunch of lights when the temperature outside gets about 80 degrees Fahrenheit or hotter. Its popping lights for ABS, PCS, sometimes the light sensor will trigger. I should also add that SOMETIMES the RPM and MPH guage will "bounce" and "dance" when its hot outside as well.
When this happens, I also lose the ability to control the climate.
Taking it into a shop on Monday and they're going to plug into the diagnostic system and check battery voltage.
I added the Hamilton Car Play kit, which they claim shouldn't be causing these errors. They also mentioned that they ship to Africa and Australia and have never heard of the heat causing issues with their units.
The car was in a front-end collision (VERY MINOR) before I purchased it in like 2020. I know the previous owner [in-laws]. This never happened to them.
I called an official Lexus maintenance shop and ironically enough, they had someone who had this SAME issue happen with the same year/make just this week. They thought I was the same person calling back. They want to run an AC diagnostic and said these other codes/errors could be related to the fault the AC may be sending.

If you have those CarPlay add-on unit, you may want to take it out to see if that still exists. For those add on unit, there is also an CAN bus decode added to the unit to prevent certain warning lights to illuminating, that may give you inaccurate scanning. Given all the HAVC function are part of the function of the head unit, I will first to eliminate the possible causes from add on unit. You can simply do that by only bypass the big harness connector, don’t worry about center screen, just to verify the HAVC control and warning lights if back to normal.
You have introduced so many variables its difficult to just say this is the issue over the internet.
First thing is unplug the addon carplay unit, get back to as stock as possible. Test the vehicle to see if the xmas lights go away, or clear and test in the exact same temperatures.
Second thing is test your battery after a full charge (remove surface charge before testing fyi). The GX does not like when the battery is low or near bad. A weak battery will sometimes cause comm failure codes.
From the looks of it a select circuit is unhappy at specific ambients, causing a comm fallout. If both of the above steps dont isolate the issue, now we are looking at something that might have not been repaired correctly post collision or something else that coincidentally has failed presently. At that point i'd take it to a shop who understands a circuit diagram and can apply reasoning base diagnosis skills. tldr not a parts changer

Based on all these codes (all most all CAN bus related communication errors), I have to say that most likely cause would be your add on CarPlay unit which basically interrupted the head unit to communicate properly with all the ECUs. Definitely remove the unit first before even trying to do anything else.
Yes, CarPlay likely, but there is often another cause for crazy lights flashing, other electronics going nuts....BAD BATTERY. If you have the original battery, or a battery that is more then 24 months old, that might be the cause. And, just because the car starts, it does not mean the battery is not weak.
I had a 2016 cayenne s that suddenly started going nuts with all the lights, etc. Put in new battery...no more problems.

forgot to mention…I also get zapped when taking tickets from parking lot kiosks! I’m in the belief that it may be the battery improperly grounded.
