Just bought a 2019 gx460 a few weeks ago, in great shape. Yesterday the temp is no longer showing on the dash, it's not the display because other info shows just fine, there are no codes and no warning lights on. AC still functions normal. Everything I find says check ambient temperature sensor which I think I found but people also say it would be throwing a code if it was that and AC auto wouldn't work?
. Any ideas of other things to look at? This is a picture of the sensor that I found under the front bumper and up about a foot.
I believe you are looking at the correct sensor. What happens if you unplug it? Have you checked the codes? I don't know if there's a code for that sensor, or not, but I think it would be unlikely to set the CEL, even if so.

thanks for your reply, I found out that I made a stupid oversight of not knowing the final option of the display is "off", lol...I have it back on again and can see temp, fuel range, etc.
