My mechanic that has 50 years' experience drove my 22 gx, felt the humming on acceleration and put it up on a lift. He went right towards the motor mounts and trans mounts. We found that the passenger motor mount to be either faulty, defective, soft or weak. My opinion is the rubber has changed over the last few years as we have had global supply chain problems. The mount certainly has play in it and the driver side mount is tight and good. Explained this to Lexus and they looked at me like I had 3 heads. Lexus is not qualified to find a simple faulty mount, nor do they want to replace it. Is a matter of fact, they said we have never replaced a motor mount before and pushed me out the door. We are basically screwed unless there is a recall! My mechanic says that it is not normal, and the humming is most likely due to the passenger motor mount.

The wood doesn't help but it's not the cause.

Well they can keep the car if they can’t fix it. I fall into the lemon law in MA now. Sounds to me I can already have them give us our money back or replace the car with something same price or higher without any cost to myself. I’ve been very patient with them. I’m polite but firm. Finally brought to there attention today that unless the cv axles rectify the problem I do not want the car anymore. 20 days in unacceptable. Update from service manager tomorrow I’m guessing after they talk with Lexus corporate. Worse case I start the NCDS arbitration process.

Hopefully we can figure this out.
I've had a '23 for fifteen months, and haven't had any acceleration-related vibrations. I do occasionally get a very slight vibration around 50-60mph. It's only occasional, and not related to acceleration. Both the used GX's I drove before I bought mine behaved similarly. I've suspected it has to do with tires that aren't perfectly balanced, and how those small balance imperfections are phased. I've thought about trying Centramatic balancers, and may yet do so. What you are describing sounds different, though.

A GX motor motor mount is only $100, and is not hard to replace. Just do it and see what happens if you think the guy is right. Who knows, he may be.

It's roughly $3000 for a mechanic to replace it.

Wow. I'll do it for half that.

I just put the car in neutral and revved it through 1500 to 1900 rpm and felt the buzz/vibration in the steering wheel (granted a little less then when under load). So this rules out driveline I think. Mounts makes sense but on our cars that are basically brand new ? It's also possible that the mounts are too hard. Apparently a very stiff mount can transfer vibrations also. The puzzling thing is that at idle or anywhere above 2000 rpm, there is no buzz/vibration. If it was mounts, wouldn't the issue be there all the time to some degree ? What the dealership should do is lift a new GX460 that does not have the issue and compare the engine and trans mounts to our cars that have the issue. That would probably confirm whether the mounts are the cure here. Also, worth noting for others readying this - the issue is really minor - my wife doesn't even notice (or care) but for a luxury SUV, you should not feel this.

I have noticed that when I am stopped at the red lights, waiting for lights to turn green and a car with a loud muffler drives by, I feel this exact buzz/vibration in the steering wheel. Loud sound waves cause it for sure and I think that our muffler has something to do with it. The steering wheel is "resonating".

I have that exact thing in my 2022 and the mechanic test drove a 2023 Black line version with me and show me it is normal.

My guess is, they modified and header or exhaust to make it slightly freer flowing or more aggressive. I did notice that engine is more responsive and revs more freely vs my 2018. Part throttle acceleration in my 22 is so much better vs the 18 as well.

I am feeling the exact same thing and I did exactly as you did. I put the vehicle in Park, revved the engine to around 1900 RPM and I could feel it. It is not a tire, CV axle, transmission, etc. issue. The bad part is the vehicle sits in this RPM range cruising on the highway. I thought it might get better as the vehicle broke in, otherwise, I would have returned the vehicle the next day.

I think there’s something going on with the build quality of these late 2023 GX’s. Also having a vibration issue at 60+ mph, but got blew off by the service advisor when I asked about it.

Here’s clip of someone else’s experience with it. Might be useful for the Massachusetts folks.

Not sure it being a "late" 2023 has anything to do with it, I'm guessing I have one of the earliest 2023's out there, as I took delivery of mine in November 2022 and have this issue. It could be a change to whatever for the 2023 model caused the issue, but I don't think it has anything to do with the build date of the 2023. I know this isn't a very helpful comment, but I think it has been around since the 2023 launched.
