Headliner Removal
Hi, we have a 2022 GX, really love the car but it is a little noisy to our liking. Last week, we completely removed the second and third row seats. We found that Lexus barely used any sound proofing materials. Up to 95% of the surface area was just bare metal. We added a layer of dynamat and a layer of sound foam barrier on top of the dynamat. The car is now noticeably quieter. The ride was pretty boom-y over bumps, now it is dampened, no more boomy ride. We are very pleased with the result. A lot of work but really worth it.
With last week’s success, we are now thinking about removing the headliner and sound proofing the roof. Unfortunately, there is very little info or tips about removing the headliner. Do you have any tips or service manual on how to remove it? We appreciate all your help. Thank you

This should give you an idea of what is involved….more 10-19 specific but generally the same.

Did you end up removing your headliner? I am searching everywhere for a tutorial on this as well. I ran into the issue at the sunroof, I can seemingly remove the pins/clips/screws everywhere except there. I see in the PDF sent above the parts holding it together, but its not intuitive to me how to remove that.
