Default Can someone explain this?

My wife put the key in the ignition and went to start it. She realized the key was from a different car.so,she got the correct key but the key will not turn past the accessory point and the wheel wil not turn. She,then, started the truck with the remote starter, but, the key still will not turn and she cannot turn the wheel in either direction. After doing this on and off for about 30 minutes, everything was fine.

Did the truck do something (anti theft)when the wrong key was put in or did she just disrupt the tumblers in the ignition?

Had the truck out several times and its fine.

Any ideas?

maybe the pins in the tumbler got jammed when she tried to turn the ignition with the wrong key and didn't reset themselves...

if everything is fine now, you should be ok... what you can do since it is winter time, if lubricate the lock with some graphite... they sell it at home depot in the key section... in a pinch you can also rub a pencil in the grooves of the key...

Take the key out and turn the wheel left/right against the steering lock to see if it will release.
