Default Kdds

Greetings

Could those of you who have KDDS comment on your likes/dislikes......whether you would get it again etc. Also, I have been told that you cannot use tow facilities of the truck if you have KDDS....could you confirm?

Thanks so very much in advance

Here was my review a little bit ago. Remember I had two 03 vehicles without KDSS and now I have it, so my review is for the most part based on actually experience.

FWIW:
I had an '03 GX without KDSS and now have an '04 GX with KDSS. Even my wife notices a difference in the ride. It's a wonderful improvement that I wouldn't buy the GX without.
As for towing, my understanding from my dealer's chief mechanic is that there is now factory installed towing available, but that it cannot be dealer installed. The dealer cannot even request the kit without first giving the VIN to Japan so that they can be sure the kit being replaced is for a GX that had the towing capability factory installed.
My dealer also said that an aftermarket tow bar for a bike/ski/etc. holder is no problem. Can't tow much over 3,000 lb. with that.
Just my opinion. Can't emphasize enough what at positive difference KDSS makes on this vehicle...

Frank

Thats worth alot to me.......thanks so much. My local dealer has told me consistently that KDSS is a waste of money. Reminds me of when I bought my 99 rx300...they told me not to get the NAK stereo.....I got it anyway and was very glad I did.

I think your dealer told you KDSS is a waste of money because only 10% of the GX's built, have it. The dealers generally have at least a few non KDSS trucks on the lot that they would just love to sell you instead. It's possible the lower volume dealers would have to wait quite a while to get one from the factory.
