Default Wheel Refinishing?

I am gonna have my wheels redone on my Pearl White '07 GX470. They can do them in light silver, dark silver or whatever sheen I want.

Do you have an opinion as to what you think would look good on a white GX470? They are light silver now but I am thinking the dark silver
would really look cool.

I went with the darker silver on my son’s 04 when we had them refinished. His wheels had terrible corrosion as you can see.

I have the darker hyper silver and thinks it looks better than the earlier generation silver.

I’m sure this varies from place to place, but I paid $125 per wheel. I had all 5 wheels done so they would match (I do a 5 tire rotation). The 04 had the lighter silver, and I got it done in the darker silver like our 08 has. The guy had it done in 1 day.

His price is the same for just about all wheels, I think I came out ahead on this one since there was so much corrosion to smooth out on all 5.

curious, what type of business did you take this to. Was it a tire dealer?

It was a wheel refinishing service shop. I’m in a smaller city and we have multiple businesses like this in our area. If you’re lucky, you’ll have one that is mobile for convenience sake. The mobile ones often do a lot of work for car dealerships as well as private individuals.

125 per wheel is a good pricing- seeing this is a paint job, it looks clean.

For anyone interested, most places that do power coating/ liquid coating can do this type of services, just gotta ask.

IMO- if your gonna paint them- have the tire installed as the machine will muck up the paint.

This is truth, the install of the tires can scratch the paint up. Does powder coating hold up much better?
