I have been searching and have been disappointed that there doesn't seem to be a large market for these?
I really love my 2007 GX470 but when I drive it after I'm in more modern cars that have blind spot monitoring I get disappointed and it' takes getting used to again.
Is there a reliable blind-spot monitoring system that can be installed in the GX? That would really be amazing and make me want to keep it forever.
Lean your head against the window, then adjust the driver's mirror so you can just see the side of the vehicle.
Then lean your head over the center console, and adjust the passenger mirror the same way.
It will take you a couple of weeks to get used to it, but you will have minimized the gap between what the rear view mirror shows you and when a car enters your side mirror.

I was in the same boat but you do get used to it again. We all learned to drive without all these electro-nannies so it’s like a bicycle, you just get right back on.
The mirror method above works to help ease getting back in to not having it. You could also get a 360 degree camera system and put the cameras on the side mirrors if you needed that bad.

anyways,
I used and installed the GOshers blond spot monitor system.. pretty easy to install about 2 hours all you have to do is snake the harness kit along the drivers side door and splice about 4-5 wires into your existing turn signal and reverse lights.
i placed the GPS sensor on the top left corner of the dash, indicators near the side view mirrors and there’s a alarm mounted on the bottom of my steering wheel.
highly recommended but it has its quirks. It’s kinda cool that is beeps at you when backing out of the Costco parking lot when someone is approaching..
