got any info on that custom spacer for the rear bags? interested in what you used etc.

 

Unfortunately I don't have any photos prior to installing them but it's an easy project for someone with basic fabrication skills. They are made from steel and turned on a lathe to match the diameter of the stock mounts. There is a hole in the top to accept the locating dowel of the factory air bag and a corresponding dowel on the bottom. To be on the safe side I also tack welded the spacers to the axle. Hope this helps a little.

 

I found this picture online that was pretty great for the spacer, can't remember where I found it though. I would probably have it made taller like 1.5" or 1.75" but the rest of the dimensions seem good.

I am looking at building my own now. How I am doing this is pretty simple. I asked my lexus dealer for some busted gx bags. I cut the bag in half, then used my plasma to cut the lower mount to my liking.

I looked at some others and sort of copied or built off their example. looking at the side, you need the front (towards the cabin) to be one inch tall, the middle one inch and 1/4, and the rear an inch an a half. This will create a slope, being taller in the rear. as you lift the truck the axle angle rotates, and your goal is to try to keep that bag as close to the OEM angle/pitch as possible.

I have not finished my set, as I am about 40% done, but I could offer a write up when done. It could be made with common tool, no plasma needed.

There are a few Australian companies that already make a spacer if you want to go that route. It's the shipping that kills the wallet.
