Default Suspension Question While trailering

2004 GX 470 I am in Lake George NY for americade motorcycle event. First time I trailered my harbour freight trailer and bike on my gx470. No problem during the 300 mile trip Did not even feel a difference in the truck with bike loaded .

Question after I shut truck off and parked removed the bike from the trailer so the only weight on the hitch is just the trailer . The trailer weighs approx 300 lbs. I went out to the truck 3 hours later and i noticed the truck seemed to be sitting low. I started up the engine and the compressor came on and the truck rose up and that leveled out the trailer to the proper ride height . I turned off the truck and then again in 3 hours it was lower again. Is This Normal. Without the trailer I do notice that on some mornings but not all the compressor does come on . Is there problem.

Sounds like you need to do a leak check on the air suspension.

In the very short term, the compressor will keep it inflated. But don't wait too long, you don't want to burn out the compressor by having it run too long.

My rear air bags "air out" slightly whenever I shut the truck off, but the axle is still well above the bump stops. If it's airing all the way out over 3 hours, I'd also suspect you have a slow leak in the bags.
