The product write up says you can plug an external cd/dvd player into this device (via RCA plugs, I would imagine - it must have a 2nd set of inputs in addition to the 3.5 mm cable that would go to your iPhone or similar device). So, why not just plug your factory cd/dvd player that is already in the glove box right into this new adapter? This shouldn't interfere with the ability to plug in your smartphone or, if you go wirelessly, it should not interfere with either. Am I missing the 'big picture' here? Mike

Back to the original question about the sd reader. I wonder if once the grom was installed if you could use an sd reader that would normally plug into a computer's usb port. I think ive seen sd readers that can read several different types of cards and came with like a 3-6ft usb cord. That way you could run the cord to the back of the grom unit but still have easy access to the reader.

The GROM USB supports only FAT16/32 formatted storages. NTFS is not supported!
