Default Replacing navigation screen

I have to swap out my old defective navigation screen with a new one I bought. I found step by step instructions on how to take out the whole unit, radio included, which i have done but am stuck on now how to remove just the old navigation screen and put in the new one. there seems to be a bracket holding it all together but dont want to damage anything trying to pull it apart. any help would be great...I have searched for hours n my truck has the whole center hanging out : )

I am hoping this will help you. It appears to be a step by step removal. There seems to be 4 bolts and you need an extension to get at those bolts, then pull the screen forward. See this thread

Thanks, I used that exact guide to get the unit out but he does not go further in removing just the screen, I need to seperate the screen from the rest of the radio bracket which has the cassete deck attached

Sorry, I guess that doesn't go far enough. I did a search too, to see if I could help you, including an internet search on the subject. Lots of false leads. There is a way to log on to Sewels (one of our sponsors), to check for instructions that are in pdf format. I haven't done that. Lots of knowledgeable people on this site, but the activity has been way down recently. Everyone out holiday shopping.

I have done it but I didnt start with a NAV screen, I had a non-nav and added NAV. My advise is to take it apart from the sides of the mounting bracket that hold the thermostat, radio, and stuff all as one big unit. Then once those are off you can separate the face plates easier. The face plates are really attached difficultly and to do it any other way I found risked braking them. If you need picts lemme know

hope these help a bit and you can see how they have that big "S" bracket on each side that I removed first then could take everything else apart carefully. I also recommend doing this on a table with a cloth on it so nothing gets scratched
