Default Passive Mode/ Auto lock doors?

Trying to find a way to get my doors to lock automatically after I close the door. After some searching and research on the forum I think what I need is a cbes option called "passive mode" I am have trouble finding specific information to this or how to activate it via the forum/search function. Google searches also turn up nothing. Does anyone have any idea on this mysterious feature?

I have a 2006 gx470.

Attached is a PDF of LPS (Lexus Personalized Settings) for the 09GX. Some of these may not apply to your 06...

Are you trying to get the doors to lock in auto when you enter the car or exit the car?

Exit the car.. After I get out, if I forget to hit lock I want the car to lock itself.

This works on push button start Lexus vehicles that use a transponder. Once the transponder is out of range of the vehicle, the car will lock itself. I can't see this being an option for an ignition key / non transponder based vehicle such as the GX470. The vehicle doesn't sense when the key has moved out of range from the vehicle.

It can be done I had an alarm system that did it.. As far as the transponder is concerned how would that work if your car is in your driveway and your transponder is still in the house "in range".

Either way I assume there is no way to do it.

Wow, I will be happy, If i can get this one on my GX working. But as far my knowledge, this feature as Jim mentioned only on Push button system. As the GX door locking have got limited features, which is linked to the Theft deterrent system onboard. Most of it are manually linked to the Key transponder to correspond with the ECM door lock transmitter and the Door lock control.

The smart key's transponder proximity sensor's range is much shorter than its alarm arm and disarm range. The smart key system only senses the transponder when it is right next to the car.
I know that the Toyota RS3200 and some aftermarket alarm system have the active arming and locking features, but I don’t think the standard non smart key Lexus alarm system has that option. It’s a option I never use anyways. Like someone said, it can lock your keys inside the car.

Manderson, your question abt wireless, proved me wrong , and you were right , I had to ask the question to the dealer, and yes, there is an option on the GX from the ECM which is set by the DLC tool( Wireless Component to be installed ) . By default factory setting GX wireless function system is off unless factory pre-fitted. All one needs to activate it by the dealer. ( for this your GX should be equipped with the Wireless System) There are two settings on the wireless mode. Which by the way works this ways.
1. Choice if the customer wants Auto lock delay time
either 30s or 60s.
2. This mode is activated once the key is removed from the ignition and door closed ( obvious you should be out of the car ) The time is 30s or 60s, with a buzzer node getting activated ( small chime ).
Models ( 2006 onwards- ) are not pre-equipped unless asked for installation when the car is pre-delivery booked, but this can be purchased and installed from the dealer. ( Price not known)
Sad I am going to miss this stuff,as alway I wished I could have this OEM stuff than the chinese stuff available in the market and conks off after 2-3 years of repetitive use.
