I recently had a friend install the Vaistech IPOD conversion on my 2004 GX470
It worked fine for a week or two, but now there is something wrong.
I was driving down the road and all of sudden the sound when out.
The IPOD was still on just no sound.
Then I tried the radio ...dead silent ...then the CD....dead silent....
(I don't have the Nav System)
They all worked.....lit up...controls worked.....but just no sound at all.
Then the next day when I started the GX it all worked again and sounded perfect.
This has now happened a few times.
Either the sound will stop working or like when I run into a store and get back in the GX the sound won't work....dead silent.
Again....the radio dial lights up....I can change the stations.....I can put in a CD and it all works...but just no sound.....then suddenly later or next day it works fine.
Tried unplugging IPOD....tried turning off radio....and CD......
I suspect it has something to do with this recent Vaistech IPOD installation?
I'm affraid you'll have to pull the system apart again and snap in the Vais plug into the back of the NAV unit. I had this issue with mine and discovered the plug takes a fair amount of force before you hear it click. Once it clicked, all was well.
rj4510....Thanks for the response....but like I said in the original post....I don't have a NAV unit......but I will try to check out that everything is plugged in correctly. Thanks again.

Oops...I did read that, but was visualizing my setup. The issue is most likely the same though. Keep us posted.
