Default Help! No sound

I have an '07 IS 250 with nav and a non-ml. Recently, I started getting no sound, and it says "audio off". It stays stuck, and won't turn on. I bought the car used, so it already had a VAIS for my ipod. I tried disconnection the ipod, thinking maybe that's what it was. But I haven't had my ipod connnected for over a week now, and it's still goes out about twice a week....no sound, audio off. I want to take it to the dealer but I'm afraid they won't take repair under warranty because of the VAIS ipod controller. Before I attempt to take out the VAIS, do you think it's possible that it's the cause?

hmm... I don't have Nav, but hopefully i an help a little bit.

Have you tried playing CDs or the radio? Does it only say this when you are under the ipod option? Also... when it says audio off, and you press FM or AM or CD, does it work?

Unfortunately, when it happens..nothing works. I've disconnected the ipod, press fm, am, cd, etc....nothing. It's working now, but it happens every other day or so. And I haven't plugged in my ipod over a week now.

Have you tried whacking your center console area? I have a Vais and the connection got loose. It didn't go as far as turning OFF, but it did disable some speakers. Might be worth checking out.
