Default Nav Upgrade ?

Have a quick question about upgrading nav software on my '04 GX470 - with the original software (3.1 I think). I think I know the answer is probably no, but you never know...

Anyhow, taking delivery of my wifes '07 GS350 today and was wondering if I can use the disc for her GS to upgrade my GX's Nav system to the latest?

Anybody know for sure the answer here? Thanks in advance!

No you can't. Different nav hardware - hers is a 5th gen Nav and yours is 4th or 3rd gen

The other problem (other than being the wrong Generation disk) is that the disk must stay in the unit. You can't simply load it and remove it - it's gotta stay in the car.

Thanks for the discount code. I just ordered the new PT219-GEN23-01 - LEXUS 2006 DVD Navigation System Update - Generation 2 & 3 - Version 6.1 for my 2003 GX470.

Can anyone describe the differences in the upgraded versions? My 04 has v3.1, but the dealer can't tell me what 'improvements' I would get by upgrading. I'd hate to spend the $$ just to find out the newer version still doesn't have the new streets from 2002 (I live near SLC, which did a major freeway overhaul which was finished before the Olympics, and my 04 didn't show the different exits, interchanges, etc).

Thanks for any info on what you really get by upgrading!

All of roadway changes you mentioned from 2002 WILL be on the current version. It's definitely worth the $279.00 (delivered price) from Sewell. I just upgraded with the same product earlier this week on my 01LS430 after seeing all the additional stuff added on my wife's GX upgrade.

Buy with confidence and the install is a breeze (3 minutes tops on the GX).

Rebate for the old one? So, the price they advertise on their site is before rebate and the CL discount?

Price they advertise is BEFORE the discount. Put in the discount code at check out and the price drops 10%. It should be $269.99 (discounted).

Sub-Total:$269.10
Shipping: $9.90
Tax:$0.00
Total:$279.00

I did not see anything about the rebate. But I posted my price and shipping to NJ above for the new DVD.
