I remembered that there was a thread about this but i'm not sure. I was wondering if this kit turns on when you unlock your doors and then turn off after you start your engine. I saw that too but didn't order it. If you have some bright leds, they shouldn't be any different than these.
Don't worry about having it constantly on.
If you wire them to your courtesy lights, they'll light when you hit the remote and turn off when you start the engine/after 30sec, exactly like your interior light.
