Default faster acceleration ?

I have a 2006 GX and wonder if aftermarket air filters/ cold air intakes etc actually improve gas mileage or acceleration .

After market filters does little or nothing for gas mileage and accelaration, cold air intake might improve accelaration a tiny bit, but the engine will sound louder.

Not sure what you are looking for, but I test drove a number of SUVs before purchasing my 2006GX. The GX blew all the others away in regards to acceleration - it is in a class of its own.

One thing I did find - I tried a partial tank of regular gas and I did notice the difference in performance and power from the premium (I'm not sure if they also switched to the ethanol mix, so I'm not making any final conclusions yet). If you are not using premium, you might try it. It was only about 15 cents a gallon more than regular this morning, which is diminuous when you are paying over $3 a gallon.

Default I'd like to see the TRD supercharger available

for this motor. But, it'll never happen. Not enough demand in all liklihood. To satisfy my need for acceleration, perhaps I'll pick up an IS350 in 2 years or so once much of the GX is paid off and the "stealer" doesn't insist on list price.

As I understand it, there is the Toyota TRD Supercharger which is available for this motor. I think I had seen it on Sewell's or another dealer parts site. It was approx $5K option to have installed. Just an FYI.

Yeah, I hear you on "list price" with the IS350. I just came back from Lexus of Austin this morning after having a state inspection done and saw a $39k MSRP on a "sport equipped" IS250 on the showroom floor. Yes, the car looked sweet with the larger wheels and sport suspension and all, but I just cannot believe that people are paying/leasing an IS with the smaller engine of 204hp for almost $40k! I could see it if it had been an IS350. I asked a salesman how the sales were going and he said they have a hard time keeping them through the weekends and that they are always in need of the IS350. I also heard production has been increased signifcantly on this model to meet demand.

Default Yeah, I see that they have the kit for the 4runner, nut not a specific one (m)

for the GX. While the motor is the same, the kit is, I believe, model specific as brackets, support pieces, etc are all vehicle specific. Too bad--I'd likely be dumb enough the spend the $$ on one!

prices drop. The "gotta have it first" crowd always pays the most and gets to find all the initial bugs to boot. I'll hang back a year or so and wait. Besides, I want the GX paid off first.
I checked kbb.com, etc and see a good 5-7K spread between list and invoice. Fat chance I'll give them a 5K profit--not including the holdback! I can see $1000 over invoice, but 5-7K?? Um.. no.

Default GX470 TRD Superchager

TRD do make a superchager for GX470 but only 2003/2004 without VV-Ti engine.

You sound like my wife and I. We have about 6 months left of payments on her GS430 and then we'll be trading in my SC400 for a GX. What year is your GX by the way?

the V1 hardwired, XD xenons installed, full Zaino wax and Sirius radio. Next step: Lidatek LE30 laser jamming equipment (2 dual head kits- 4 total in the front). Should be shipped tomorrow, or so I am told.
I figure in another 2 1/2 yrs +/- I should be able to acquire something fun like an IS350, which I'll likely lease as I tend to want something new every few years. The GX, however, was purchased (not leased) and I'll likely keep it for a long, long time. I figure that with 12K/yr miles on average as my full time vehicle and 5K thereafter with a "fun" car I should be able to keep it 10+ years or more, especially with an extended warranty. Well, thats the plan-- hope it works!
