Default Bluetooth conection issue.

My phone connects to GX system when I start the car it is works fine but every ones in the while BT connection to GX system just drops and my phone cannot even "see" GX system as BT devise. I have to stop, turn off my engine , turn it back and BT back to normal.

Does anybody else have this problem ?????

On my phone (Nokia 6600) what I have to do is set the paired device as authorized. Once I did that it would connect and would not drop unless it left the vicinity. If it came back it would automatically reconnect. It worksfine on my RX400h and it should on your GX as well.
The words might be different but it pretty much means that the connection will occur without approval of the user...

Hope ths helps

I had it happen once - well once for 5 days in a row. It would 'connect' and then drop. I was on vacation, so I blamed it on the change in environment

I tried removing the phone out the GX's memory, removed the GX from my phone, pairing again, etc. Nothing would seem to work.

Returned home and repeated the delete/pair process and it's worked fine ever since.

Probably not the same issue you have, but something caused it to have problems for that 5 day period.

All,

Interference with BT signal will cause the connection to drop between the phone and the GX and also if you have your phone paired to your BT headset as well... Restarting the GX via ignition will force the connection back on, but as an alternative, you can repeatedly (force) a call through anyway and usually by the 6th or 7th try the BT connection will be re-connected.

That might also explain why Donger was getting disconnected while on vacation and not when he got back home...

This happened much more frequently with my older BT Sony Ericsson phone, T68i but much less ofter with the 3rd generation Sony Ericsson S710a...

Hope this helps, good luck!

Good to know - I have an older SE T637, so there was probably something in the area I was staying at (alarm systems, etc?).

I just bought a Motorola RAZR VC3, I haven't try to link with the GX yet, Is it hard to do? How do you set the GX with the phone? I'm going to try to do it this weekend.

thanks

Default How did you set the paired device as authorized.

BTW, since GX has an electronic start (you don't have to hold the key in start position to start the vehicle) you can actually turn the key to start position while you are driving, and the only thing it will do it will reset all the electronics including the BT, radio, DVD, etc. I know it's not a solution, but it's a band aid. I use it all the time when I wonder away from the vehicle (when it's on and the phone is paired - like at the gas station) when it drops my BT connection.
