lexus vs. weathertech cargo tray

Hi guys,
I already purchased lexus all-weather floor mats for my GX and now I'm planning to get a cargo tray. What are the differences between lexus and weathertech cargo trays beside the brands? Also, does weathertech tray have openings for third row seat installment?

I've gpt the weathertech cargo mat for our GX. I'm happy with it. They've got an outlined area that your cut if you have the 3rd seat. U cut mine the exact same way the OEM carpeted mat is cut. I left the carpeted mat underneath for double protection and the 3rd row still clicks into the floor fine.

There are also two small cutouts for the cargot net attachment.

One final thing, regarding color... If your GX is ivory inside, you can get an ivory Lexus tray. However, if it's grey, the so-called grey tray from Lexus is actually black because it supposedly matches the "step" on the rear bumper.

Screwed up, if you ask me...

So, this is the one area where I would pass on the Lexus accessory and go with Weathertech.

Additional thought regarding winter mats

Lexus has been slowly changing the design of the winter mats for some of its vehicles (like the RX) from the design we have on the GX (with the huge L in the middle) to what is shown in this picture.

I actually like the new style a lot better and wonder if they will ever do this on GX mats... Don't you think it looks very nice?

I am getting an 2006 GX with the gray interior. Will the gray WeatherTech cargo liner look ok, or should I get the black WeatherTech cargo liner? Yes, I agree, the newer Lexus floor mats for their cars do look better than the big L that the GX mats currently have. I have an 05 GX now with the ivory interior and the WeatherTech cargo liner does look and work great.

Ah, great, another GX! Yes, the gray WT liner looks great. It blends in much better than the black.

Not sure about the floor mats, but there might be hope that they're being redesigned in the new style, though this is wishful thinking. My guess is that perhaps they haven't linked all the accessories to the model yet in their site. They should be able to clarify everything.
