Default Matching Tint For Windows

Anyone have any experience on what tint matches the factory rear tint. My local installer seems to think that 20% charcoal will be perfect; I wonder if it will be too dark. I am hoping for a close to perfect match to the rears.

Anyone had this done successfully??

Default Tint

I have 20% on mine and it is pretty close. The guy at the shop told me 15% was the match for the factory tint, but it looked too dark.

Can you please tell me who makes the tint. My tint is not close to how I want it to look.
Is there a life time guarantee on the tint against bubbles and ect?

I read throught that post but left a little confused. I don't want to touch the rears just get the front to match. It sounds like you suggest 35% for the fronts for visibility correct?? Moreover I want a classy look not too "pimp dark" if you know what I mean. Also I assume you are using the standard charcoal tint.

Thanks for your help, I am hoping to get them done tommorrow/Thurs.

you will never get an exact match to the factory back windows because the front windows have a slight green hue in the factory tint. charcoal will get you the closest. mine are 35% charcoal, and it takes a bit to notice they're not the same color, and the back is still slightly darker. i would have liked to get a 20%, but that is just asking to get pulled over in the summer time when the rims are on.

Thanks for the pics. I have the charcoal interior and it looks that the 35% probably darkens it up enough for my tastes. I too, am concerned about being pulled over for over aggressive tint--especially after a Xmas party or such

Just had them tinted--And allisonb1013 was right about the green hue. I had the dealer retint the windows 3 different times in order to get the best match--but hte fronts are still pretty green in comparison. I am going to leave them for a bit and see if I can get used to it.

Tinting the driver and front passenger's windows is illegal in California. I went with a dark tint on the rear windows and medium on the fronts. The idea was to maintain some contrast between front and back windows to minimize the chance of being ticketed, make items stored in the rear of the truck impossible to see and provide additional protection for the interior from the sun.

Same in Oregon and they will pull you over for that here especially at night when the tint looks even darker. The last thing I need is to get pulled over for dark window tint. But I like the look of some tint, appreciate the added privacy, and with the DVD override perhaps the added concealment of my wife watching a video as we are trucking down the street.
