Was wondering since what year the GS300 got its engine cover?

definitely 2000+ cuz my mother has an engine cover on her 2000 GS300 Platinum Edition....I have a 2001.
Not so sure on the 98-99 GS300 models.

98 and 99 do not come with engine covers for some strange reason. 00 to present they started putting engine covers on them.

It paralleled production for the IS300. The IS has the identical engine cover and production started in 2000 for them as an 01.

Is there anyone that has done the engine cover transplant on a 98-99 car? On the 00 - present cars the valve cover has a bolt sticking up and I guess the cover goes there and is held down with a nut on top. The 98-99 do not have this 2 bolts sticking up like that.

you shoudl talk to neo about this. i know he has studied this a bit and have the general idea about the feasibility
