Default School me on spacers!

I really like the way the stock wheels look, but I hate how the front wheels are tucked in. I want to get spacers for a better stance, but there are so many videos on Youtube describing how spacers are a bad idea (wears out bearings, puts stress on axle, hard to steer, possible wheel falling off and vibration due to bad products). I'm reaching out to see your opinion on this and how your setup is holding up. If it's desirable, I'll probably order the H&R spacers.

Thanks in advance!

I ran H&R 20mm Spacers/Adapters for 2 years before getting new wheels. They work wonderfully as long as they are installed properly per their instructions. These are the ones with the integrated studs. There really isn’t a safety concern as long as they are installed correctly and while you are moving the wheel farther away from centerline, which will put more stress on the bearing, it should be minimal as we are talking about less than 10% of the wheels width.

You'll be fine with spacers as long as they are from a reputable manufacturer like H&R.
I currently run an aggressive setup and it's perfect, I get a lot of compliments on how the car sits.

Front: 25mm
Rear: 20mm

Wow they look great! Thinking if I should do 15mm front and 10mm back. Not lowered.

But I go to the track sometimes and wondering if there will be any negative impacts.

hey. sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I have 18x10 wheels on a square setup on my GSF and I am rubbing a little during full steering. I'm really new at this aftermarket stuff - does anyone know if I would be able to run 20mm spacers to help clear the front wheels better? Obviously I'd also have to get rear ones to even things out visually.

Thanks in advance, and I'll go to another thread if it's more effective

If you're rubbing slightly, I would go with one size smaller front tires.
What are your tire sizes? I'm guessing your wheels are square and your tires are too?

Yes, the tires are 275/40/18 and I run a square setup since I track the car and it's effective at killing the understeer, along with the rest of my setup. Because of that, I can't just run smaller wheels in the front. That's why I'm asking about spacers, but again, I'm on unfamiliar territory here.

Since I have to flip the TPMS units back and forth from tire to tire, I'd prefer to be able to run the track wheels in more settings, hence the spacer ask.

I would recommend going with 265/40 fronts. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Okay, I can always give that a try, assuming they make Supercar 3 tires in that size. I assume they do but I'll have to do some checking once my fronts are worn.
