Default Question about GSF

I really want a GSF but the prices now are insane. Looks like every GSF went up $10,000 across the board since before COVID. Do you guys think the price will go back to normal in another year or two? I’d love to pick one up in the 40s.

On another note, I see the GSF comes with really low profile tires. Seems very thin compared to even the regular GS 350. Anyone from NYC or a place with horrible roads who can confirm how the ride is over bumps? Would it be possible to put 45 sidewall tires instead of 30/35 or whatever it comes with?

I don't think its going to come down at all, if you are planning to get one get it now. Not only is it due to Covid and high demand for used cars, its also going up because of the V8s going away, discontinued GS line and future enthusiast demand, IMHO.

The tire are pretty low and blew out a rear one driving over a piece of wood at 45mph. I'd say it does a decent job handling bumps but it is on the harsher side. I would get a wheel protection plan if you are planning to drive it in NYC. Good luck

The overall car market will eventually go back to normal as supply picks up. But I'm not too sure about the GSF. Lexus has sold less than 3,000 units in the US, and it's been discontinued. If demand is still there (since you're asking, I don't see why not), the price is not gonna come down very fast, or at all.

GSF will not be in the low $40K range, unless it has high mileage and/or sub-par condition. This is the case before the pandemic and I believe will be the same after everything calms down.

yea I wasn’t thinking low 40s, those are all
high miles bad condition. It just seems like a low mileage 2017 is around 58-60 when previously they were around 50 pre pandemic. I was hoping to get a low mileage one for around 50. I mean it has to depreciate each year no?

speaking of depreciating I can’t believe the price I see some LC500s for. Almost the price of a GSF and a couple years newer

LC500 are much more popular than GSF and is still in production. People buy into the aesthetic appeal then realized it's not a practical car and not high performance enough so they trade it for something else.

That’s so funny I literally just reached out to them today. I think that is the best deal available right now. Now that you tell me you knew the guy and what you said makes me want it even more

called them and it’s already pending sale. Someone acted fast. Best deal in the country right now for the miles. I don’t blame them

I’m in similar boat. Been looking for GSF for 4-5months. Anything with less than 50k miles, no more than 2-3 previous owners, no accident record is asking $57k-$60k. Most if not all of it is 2016 but sometimes do see 2017. No dealer is willing to negotiate on price. Including the one posted above, I’ve had 2-3 cars that i was very close on pulling a trigger but in the end, knowing that I’m paying 25-30% premium since pre-pandemic, i couldn’t do it. I specifically buy used cars for depreciation factor so not able to take advantage of that was difficult for me.

I believe the price will come down, just matter of when. GSF was not the most popular car and i know ppl on this forum will swear by it but this isn’t a collector car IMO. You can say V8 is gone but same setup can be had in RCF or LC. Believe me i want one but not at the premium dealers are asking for it. If you have the money to spend, go for it! Like someone said, you only live once so why wait!!

Good luck with your search.
