Question 2017 GSF New Key Questions

Picked up a 2017 GSF a couple of weeks back and of course, after everything was signed and they were delivering the car, he then mentioned there was only 1 key. Shame on me for being in sales myself and not asking the question upfront. The local Lexus dealership charges $317 for the key and $100 to program it (lol funny). Has anyone bought a key online and gone to the dealership to program the key? Just curious if that's something I should consider to save $200-300, or if you can even buy a key online specifically for your car before programming.

I have programmed keys for ls460 myself I lost my key was able to program using my other key and car, you need an old computer win XP tech stream and key fob matching the ID on your key fob. The programming takes like 5 mins. I bought an uncut / blank key from ebay
if you are cool with the dealership they should be able to program too, I have also head some guys like who cut keys can also program like mom and pop shops. I mean as mentioned earlier its very easy with tech stream.

Ok cool. So I'm not too comfortable with programming myself, but what I'm hearing is I can buy a key online and take to the dealership/mom n pop shop to program. Thanks!

Buy a key and bring it by my place. I'm in Johns Creek/South Forsyth. I have Techstream (fully legal) and I've done this for both my cars when I got credit card keys for them. Piece of cake.

Part number for the credit card key you need is 89904-30L50. Should be less than $220 from Internet Lexus retailers.

Part number for a standard key is 89904-30M50. Should be under $140 from Internet Lexus retailers.

Thanks, Lobuxracer. We can connect later after I receive the key. As for ordering the key, it doesn't really matter where it's from as long as it is for the right year GSF, correct?

The wallet key is a great idea. Man I have missed the GS forums.

Mine does. You can also order the cover with the F symbol all by itself.
