Hello! I just received my plates for my GS F and wanted to get the front one installed off to the side. The dealer gave me a bracket but I think it's only going to work if it is placed under the front in the middle.
Do you think a dealer will be able to put it up for me off to the side? Will I need to purchase something beforehand? I have attached a picture of what I would like from a Lexus RC F. I have not been able to find a picture with a GS F. Thanks!
Those types of plate holders typically use the tow hook as to avoid drilling any holes. Here's one i've seen mentioned on here from Cravenspeed, as an example: https://www.cravenspeed.com/front-li...19-lexus-gs-f/
I dont think this is anything you would need the dealership to install for you.
I just picked up an F last week. The dealer needed to install the front plate for it to pass state inspection. Otherwise, a front plate is not necessary.
This is MA, but are you sure your state requires a front plate? Just a thought.
I’m using the same one i used for my GS350; fitment is perfect for me. Wanted one that stayed close to body, and able to conform to angle of bumper, and had multiple position options. Wish it had a beefier bolt to connect rod to plate holder but it works for me. I have no experience with the Craven holder but i like that it has a quick release bolt (very convenient if you frequently remove) but appears that plate will have only 1 position. Very easy installation, about 10mins of your day (30 if you’re like me and a try out different positions, and can’t level it on first try).
Just had mine installed. It works well but sits REALLY flush against the chrome trim. I wonder if it'll scratch over time. Also, I figured water would get into the tow mount area so I just anti-siezed everything.
Now I have to carry a bit and tools in my trunk just in case I ever need to remove it for a tow... not that I expect I'll be needing one...
