Exclamation Radar Detector Install

Anyone installed or hardwired their radar detector via the Fuse Box (not mirror)? I need to know which fuse is not HOT because the detector does not turn off when i power the car off so i have to unplug it every time I decide to use it.

Which fuse box do you want to wire it to? There are multiple. You simply need to identify an accessory (such as instrument cluster) that is only active with the ignition on, and use that fuse.

Well I don't own a GSF, I own an ISF, I have my radar hardwired to the driver side fuse panel. Fuse "ECU-IG LH" 10AMP fuse. I just put the wire into the hole were the fuse goes, then put the fuse on top of it. I also used the nut on top of the fuse box as my ground. Hope this helps!

2016 GSF and I have it wired into (Driver's side fuse box) in a 10amp "FL SHTR". The detector keys on and off with the ignition.

Good stuff! Any of you care to share photos of where you mounted your detector? Sorry, I am new to all of this and really think I need to make the investment given new GS F ownership.

Do you still unplug the detector when you park the car or leave the car anywhere?

Ran the wire from the fuse box up through the a-pillar and across the headliner with the detector windshield/suction mounted to the left of the rear-view mirror. It's high-enough in the tint area that it's difficult to see the detector from outside the car and yes, I leave it plugged-in and "on" full time with the ignition keying the power.

I also have fishing line running from the detector mount to the visor latch mount to keep it from falling in case the suction cups fail.

Again I have the isf, it can't be much different from the g. I ran the wire from the radar along the headliner down the a-pillar. I used the following mount and cord.

That is the exact same Cord i have as it allows your to mute the Radar detector rather than hardwiring it to the mirror & then you have to Mute the Detector from the unit itself. What i need to know is where did you wire the Smart cord to so that the Radar detector powers down when you shut the car off.
