Hey. What is GraceNote?

 

It's a CD database that lives on the computer, gets updates via the Enform app sometimes. So when you insert a CD it knows about, it displays artist, album, titles, all that.

 

I think I figured it out.

Today, I received a mail from SiriusXM regarding subscripton and said I got 3 months trial. Don't know how... Maybe when I signed up at Lexus owner's link, they got my information.

 

Thats how they found ya! lol

 

2014 traffic & weather are through XM only. My main gripe with the year/model/Lexus. Google's free, but doesn't show on the big screen.

I guess I'll just have to enjoy Traffic/Weather until my 3months free subscription expires since I don't listen to XM much.

 

Note that you can get just the traffic, without music, if you are so inclined. This is what I did when we had our RX.

Now, you got me thinking....

 

I'd just use it over your trial period and see if it is accurate in your area and worth the $48 a year. We used it a lot, so we found it to be worth it, but not everyone will agree.

 

I am already leaning towards $48 per year.

As long as you don't live in a big city it's probably OK. Here in North Texas, accidents can jam up the highway minutes before the xm data shows up, and also clear up before the xm data updates. I think it polls every 15 minutes.

 

I primarily use XM. Sometimes my iphone. Sometimes regular radio (on and off HD depending)

 

My GS is the first car I haven't kept XM active after the trial period. I did with my IS, but then ended up using Pandora through Enform all the time. That's what I do with my Highlander as well. Where I live, XM signal is too broken up by the hills, but Pandora is great.

 

The only problem I have with Pandora played through the Enform app is the constant "Tether Error" and "Insufficient Connectivity" messages.

 

For traffic in my '14, I find Google maps far more comprehensive. At least when looking at the map on the nav screen, I only see color indication for major routes, whereas Google maps on my phone will give it for ample side streets, etc. Around here, those smaller streets are where you can lose significant time, so I appreciate the additional detail.
