Backup Camera Issue Resolution
I recently installed a front camera interface from BeatSonic which allows the user to activate a front or the rear OEM camera through the OEM screen at any time on demand. With that tool, a real time view of the camera as I manipulate the trunk or harness is very helpful.
In preparation for a GS-F tail light swap, I removed the right side carpet liner where wire harness containing the camera signal runs. While looking at the camera output on the OEM screen, I pinpointed the issue to where the harness is retained by the plastic clip circled in blue.
The red arrow is pointing to the trunk hinge and to the rear. Once the harness was removed from the plastic retainer clip, the harness was now free to move as the trunk opens and closes. That solved the issue.
Hopefully this helps anyone else with this issue. As a side note, the ability to activate the rear camera on demand is very helpful for extra security at ATMs.

I had a dealer look at it as well. After explaining the issue in detail for a few minutes, the service rep placed the car in reverse, saw the backup camera turn on and said: "Its working fine". I quietly took the keys, said thank you and realized I was on my own with this!
