My 2014 is250 came with the harness for the back up camera so I bought a camera off Amazon and it said it should fit bit the harness and the camera connectors aren't the same fit, anybody know what type of camera I should buy
hey man, forget it, I've spent months looking for a solution and been through so many troubles.
After all, I realized that my old $20 USD camera installed 7 years ago was the best solution and I super regret that I had given it up and thought that I could get a better solution...
I am missing this old US$20 camera soooooooooooooo much, it did a great job and it looks better than the original camera (no visible hole at all):
This is the genuine thing you are looking for, but it wouldn't work directly because you don't have that original cover plastic, also, you don't have that mounting hole on your trunk (I believe):
Believe me, if your car does not come with it, just get a 3rd party camera like the one I did 7 years ago,
don't even attempt to get the OEM as there will be so much pain.
What's worse is, it wouldn't work better than the US$20 cam after getting through all those pains...

Welcome to the forum!
Likely the issue that you are having is that you are missing the short jumper harness that goes between the car harness and the camera.
In the pic above you can see the jumper harness attached to the camera...the label on it has the part number, 82181-53...unfortunately the last 3 digits are on the other side of the label. The complete part number is 82181-53070.
If you get the jumper harness, the white connector end will plug into the car harness and the gray connector end will plug into your camera.

Actually it is: 82181-53050A-2
That's how the other end looks, however, like I said,
forget it, it does not worth the efforts to pursue...
Actually...there are several part numbers that will fit...the part number that I quoted in the most recent.
The effort to do it is up to the vehicle owner...it's their call, no ours.
Of course, but the most important point is the OEM camera wouldn't fit without purchasing the plastic strip with OEM camera mounting holes, also the trunk has to be cut...
Keep in mind that the OEM cam is 6v and not 12v. And with most non-OEM ones, you'll have to mess with the wiring to some extent.
+1
This is key. Otherwise you need to run a 12V power source like the cigarette lighter. The backup/reverse lights are 9v from what I understand.
I installed a Parkvision camera off Amazon a month ago. I was able to run everything off the clipped connector. It looks OEM. I drilled a 0.5" hole for the camera, and then in the trunk.
The manual specifed 12V operation, but I had my fingers crossed..
Best $50 spent, I am glad I didn't go OEM new, my car is a 2014.
Trying to retain the OEM has been one of the worst decisions of my life, it's been almost 8 months now where everyone is telling me its this wire or that wire while I have had my glovebox out and been popping fuses left and right trying to wire different pins.

did you ever find a camera that fit? If so how was the installation process and did you go oem or aftermarket route
I retained my OEM backup camera with a little bit of tinkering it can be done. You just have to get the signal from these plugs either on trunk lid or wherever those wires connect to the "computer" that runs it. I tapped into it at the computer that was behind my glovebox in my LS460L with park assist. Park assist is what I understand made my project difficult.
The trunk lid splicing seems like it would be an easier gig but then you have to run the wires to your stereo for signal.
Let me know if you have any questions it was a saga to figure out but once done couldn't be happier that Its factory oem camera didn't want it to stick out or look aftermarket.
