Odometer Wrench Symbol Maintenance Countdown Readout
I see that my odometer has the typical readouts for A & B Trip counters & of course accumulated vehicle mileage, but it also has a readout (I'm not familiar with on my 2013 GS) that displays a wrench symbol and a 9,950 mile reading. I'm not sure if it is permanently available by pressing the ODO button or only available for instance when the car is first started. I presume this wrench display readout is the countdown mileage until the next recommend oil change at 10k mile intervals, correct?
When the maintenance data is reset in the multimeter does this mileage reset back up to 10,000 miles and start counting down again?

Yeah, after the maintenance reset, it counts down from 10k again.

I like to use my B Trip counter to keep track of how many miles it's been since my tires were last rotated, which I have done every 5k miles. I use the the A Trip counter for distance traveled after gas fill-ups and anything else. So now I can use this maintenance countdown counter for oil changes. Nice!
Though I religiously log all maintenance items on spreadsheet.

I have a question regarding this as well. Mine shows 4,470 miles but when I start the car it states that service is required and to contact my dealer. Is that for the 5k mile tire rotation interval?

Yeah, the maintenance reminder will pop up every 5k miles. The 10k countdown is basically the oil change countdown.
