$1500 is within reach. Most people spend more than that with aftermarket wheels/tires.

remember when you pay for it, you also get calibration updates, to have the latest for your ECUs or even the AC to prolong the life of your servo motor.

Every year? 1K a year to scan the odd code and fiddle with settings isn't something an ordinary owner is going to spend.
The techinfo.snapon site has it for $1295 USD a year... that's $1800 in our money...

If you go around trying to fix things that are not broken, re-calibrating or whatever, your more likely to create problems that didn't exist. I purely use techstream to diagnose problems, especially useful when your retrofitting options your car didn't have. Also programming my own keys and changing dealer only settings. It's the best scan tool made for our cars.

Also a $500 Mongoose OBDII to USB cable(pictured in techstream ad) is overkill IMO.

Yup $30 eBay special paid for itself the first day used it to program new keys, delete the keys previous owner still had, and change a few dealer only settings.

agree on the price of the USB dongle. But all eBay Techstream are just cracked Techstream software and is no way legit.

Techstream doesn’t allow you to put software that is incompatible with the ECU. I have done it on a Toyota to improve transmission shifting smoothness as part of a TSB. There are also plenty of updates for the GS. Including reducing the fuel pump noise on a 2016 GS F.

That's $90 for 2 days access... that's highway robbery. This is clearly aimed at mechanics or anybody making money from the software.

agree. But remains the only way for the public to have legitimate access to everything the dealer can, including service bulletins.

could be worse, most other luxury brands don’t even allow this.

These are clones / fake stuff

genuine one is made in usa. Chinese people fake only good stuff,
they doesnt bother to make fake stuff of non good product and not popular..
Genuine one cant be compared to chinese ones i guess.
I hope to get one when i get my next pay check
still saving to get and service my GS450h.
