Default Crosswinds create unsteability 😬

So Dallas is being hit with 45+mph wind gusts today which is making my car so eratic while driving down the tollway/Hwy to which it was a struggle to just stay in my lane. Anybody else have similar characteristics in wind/crosswind?

There off brand Nexen tires with a H speed rating with about 8-10k miles on them. Even in light wind it doesnt want to track straight at 65+, but under 65 its perfectly fine. Ive only had the car for about 6 months so not sure what a higher quality tire would feel like with a higher speed rating. But i understand with the winds we had today that its going to be some counter steering against the winds, but just seemed excessive compared to the 04 Acura TL i had previous.

I had the same issue in the GP/Arlington area. I was also the one of a few idiots that decided to play golf today. I am used to my cars skating around in all kinds of weather. The less you look like a drunk driver the better.

Wind is an understatement. It’ll pick up anything. You’re fine.

Its another windy day here in the DFW, although not like yesterday. But still when driving down the highway and a strong side gust hits me i can hold the steering wheel locked in the straight position and still get pushed left and right... Is this normal or am i just over thinking this?

45 mph winds will push any car around.

Push due to 45 mph wind will be felt by the driver of any vehicle. The greater the surface area of the vehicle (everything else being same), the push will be more.

See Mercedes' crosswind stabilization technology from 2014:

Yes, It has sure been windy the past two days here in the Metroplex with gusts approaching 50 mph at times. The more side surface area there is on the vehicle, the more winds like what we've had will push most any car around if it is a cross wind to the direction of travel. And if you happen to be driving at an angle to the wind direction (quartering the wind),it can make it even worse to hold a straight travel direction because it can give the sensation that the car is oversteering or understeering at times, which makes it feel like you've lost control even though your intention is to simply drive straight. Can you imagine how it feels to drive a panel van, box truck with its large surface area to catch the wind - or how about a trucker pulling a 53' trailer? I'm sure you've seen some doors almost ripped off their hinges when the winds get high like they were here the past two days. Pilots don't much care for cross winds either making the plane slip sideways...

I'm sure your GS 350 is just fine - it's the wind just doing its thing!

These are long cars relatively high belt lines, so you will certainly will get pushed around by the wind. If it starts happening when it's not windy, you should get your alignment checked as you may have too much negative toe.
