Default Initializing/Activating TPMS Sensors on 4th Gen GS

Hoping people have some experience in replacing TPMS sensors. Instead of letting my local Firestone replace a dead tpms with an aftermarket that does not register the psi to the dashboard, I purchased a couple of SCHRADER 28370 off rockauto this time around, supposedly the OE part for my 2013 GS. Firestone installed them but informed me they were unable to program it.

I figured, no problem, I wrote down the codes ahead of time, I'll program them in myself. To my disappointment, even after writing the new code to the ECU via Carista, they did not work. The car is now throwing a C2126 error that pops back up as soon as it is cleared.

It's unclear to me if these sensors ship initialized or not. I've since stopped in at four other shops (a local shop, a different Firestone, Monroe, and Sullivan Tire) and none of their scan tools can "activate" the tpms sensor.

Any ideas as to how I can activate my sensors?

Can you tell me how to reprogram my new sensors to the ecu? I have a 2006 GS300 and I installed new tires and wheels with new TPMS sensors and I need to program them to the car. I have a Autel TS408 relearn tool. Thank You

I didn’t get to watch the whole video but it looks like this should be how. Just make sure that after you get them programmed into the vehicle you don’t turn the key off without going around the vehicle and scanning each sensor again so the ECU recognizes each sensor

Need help getting the tire pressures to read on my dash info screen. 2014 GS

I have a summer and winter set of wheels and I just switched to a non-OEM set of sensors. Using the Carista app, I entered the new codes for each sensor and the app screen shows me the exact tire pressures, meaning the car knows what they are too. However, they are not showing on the dashboard. The warning light is even off.
Oh, I need to reset the TPMS system with the under-dash button? Did that. Blank display... Left the car in the on position for 5 minutes after one suggestion. Drove a 60mph for at least 10 minutes based on another suggestion.

Does anyone know what the correct procedure is to get the values to display on the info screen?

What sensors did you use? They don’t all show air pressures.

sorry to tell you but the non oem sensors won’t work. The car will accept the sensors hence why you can scan them and have no TPMS light on but won’t show the pressure.

I dealt with the same issue - bought after markets that said they were oem from eBay and they would program successfully but not display the PSI.

Got fed up trying to make them work and went ans got 4 oem from the Toyota dealer, went back to the same place (Discount Tire) and got em programmed. Drove for like 1 minute and the all the PSI started showing.

something with Toyota/Lexus doesn’t like the non oem sensors there are several threads about in on CL.
