Default Parking Brakes Locked Up

Have a 2014 GS F-Sport. This is a low mile mint car that has been trouble free. Just replaced the battery a couple weeks ago. Everything was fine. Been driven over 200 miles since battery change. Went to my friends shop today to rotate the tires and the parking brakes locked up when I tried to leave. We did have the doors open for a while looking for the wheel lock key ( I hate wheel locks!) so that could have run the battery down a little. Anyway, tried the manual release and it did not work. Parking brake malfunction light is on. So my car is sitting in his lift stall tying up his shop! I see that the low battery likely caused this. However, I just want to get it to move so I can get it to the dealer to be fixed properly. I’m in a rural area and dealer is 100 miles away. Fun times!

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks, Bill

Only thing I could think of is that the connector that plugs into the electronic brake is unplugged or maybe a fuse.

Was your seat belt off or on?

I recently bought an L Certified 2018 F Sport, and while looking through the service records, the only thing I found was that the parking brake actuator was replaced due to frequent lock ups reported by the previous owner. Not sure if it's a common problem or not, just throwing it out there.

Yes. We tried it with the seat belt on also. About 5 hours now if everything we see people recommend and nothing unlocks the brakes. Crazy. Loved this car until this!
Thanks for your help.
