Hi

I parked my car outside for 1 month, and now when I try to use it again, the car seems to be dead.

Symtoms
- Can't open door with key fob - key fob battery is still working properly
- Use mechanical key to unlock car, then I notice there is no lights, no beep sound at all
- Turn on headlight manually to test battery, it seems dead
- Notice the steering wheel is locked and brake seems to be locked/stuck as well
- try to jump start but fail -> hold the key fob near Start/Stop button but don't see green light on at all -> not sure this issue is related to locked steering wheel issue at all.

Please help.

Have you had the car battery checked out? Sounds like a dead battery.

Mechanical key to unlock or lock will not produce any lights or sound.
The brake pedal stiffness is cause by pumping the brakes with the vehicle off. It will be normal when you start the car up.
The steering wheel lock will become unlock when you start the car.
If there is no power to the car, you will not be able to hold the key to the start button to start the car.

Lexus batteries are garbage, replaced mine's 3 times (within same warranty period) before I gave up and bought another branded battery (Optima Yellowtop)

Thanks MX73 for your reply. Yes, it's exactly as you described. Steering wheel lock is only unlocked when my car got power back. And yes, it is indeed because of my car battery was dead.

Replacing a new battery solve the problem.

And my battery is lexus battery (replaced just several months ago), it's bad
